Honourable President Dr. Arif Alvi chaired 27th meeting of vice chancellors from all over Pakistan to review progress of undergraduate scholarship programme, which is deeply valued by students. Application deadline has closed and due diligence for selection is ongoing. President termed the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarships as a State guardianship for the deprived, as it is responsibility of the State to counter elitism by facilitating people in employment as well as education and health sectors. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Sania Nishtar said the project aims at promoting human capital investment, as it is imperative to invest in the human capital making the youth technologically skilled to meet the future challenges. She said that these scholarships are part of a much broader effort being made under the Prime Minister's Ehsaas Programme, to intervene on behalf of the welfare of the poor.
